Repowise Hosted plans. The open-source engine is free and self-hosted under AGPL-3.0; Enterprise adds a customer-managed deployment and commercial terms.

## Plans

| Plan | Monthly billing | Yearly billing | Private repos | For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | None (2 public repos) | Open-source maintainers |
| Pro | $15/mo today; $20/mo for new subscribers from November | $12/mo billed $144/yr today; $16/mo from November | 5 | One developer on private code |
| Teams | $20/seat/mo | $16/seat/mo, billed yearly | 25, pooled | Teams, minimum 3 seats |

Subscribers who start Pro before November keep today's price for as long as they stay.

## What each plan includes

### Free

- Documentation built from the index. Every module gets a page, plus the significant files and the top-ranked public symbols, generated from the code graph, not written by a model. Never withheld by plan, and it costs no credits.
- Explanations written for notable public repos. Public repositories at or above 1,000 stars normally get their overview, architecture, onboarding and module pages written by a model at our expense, not yours.
- Public repo indexing (up to 250 MB)
- A public page for your repo, free forever
- Health badge for your README. A live code-health badge, plus a distribution badge. Adding either earns weekly auto-refresh at no cost.
- Weekly auto-refresh with the badge. Repos displaying a Repowise badge re-index every week automatically. No plan required.
- Semantic search. Natural-language search over docs, symbols, and file paths, ranked by meaning, not by substring match. Unmetered on every plan, including Free.
- 10 AI answers per month. Codebase chat and quick-ask draw on one monthly pool of 10 grounded answers. On Pro, answers draw from your monthly credits instead.
- PR bot on public repos. A comment on pull requests that need one: what the change can break, files that usually change together, owners to ask, and the health change. Built from the index, no model and no credits. Silent on PRs with nothing to flag.
- Graph, hotspots, dead code, ownership and decisions. The whole deterministic analysis: the dependency graph in five views, hotspots, dead code, ownership and bus factor, architectural decisions and the symbol explorer. The full list is in the comparison below.
- Git history: the last 500 commits. Git intelligence (hotspots, ownership, co-changes) is computed on the most recent 500 commits.
- Not included: Private repos
- Not included: Auto-sync on every push

### Pro

- Everything in Free
- Private repo indexing (GitHub App). After upgrading, install the Repowise GitHub App (one-time, read-only) from your dashboard or Settings → GitHub App to grant access.
- Auto-sync on every push. GitHub webhook re-indexes your repo within ~30s of every push. No manual reindex needed.
- Security scanning: CVEs, reachability, secrets. Dependency CVEs with function-level reachability, secret detection across the full git history, SBOM and VEX export, and nightly CVE alerts.
- Written explanations on any repo you hold
- Codebase chat and quick-ask, metered by credits. $5 of AI credits every month, about 150 to 200 chat answers. AI docs, MCP calls and PR review draw from the same balance. Top up any time.
- AI review on pull requests, billed from credits. AI review on the PR bot costs about 9 cents a pull request on average, so $5 of credits covers about 55. Each pull request is capped at 60 cents by default. Signals mode makes no model call and stays free.
- Full commit history, repos up to 5 GB
- Top-up credits anytime ($5 packs, never expire)

### Teams

- Everything in Pro, for your whole team
- 25 shared repos, pooled across the team. Index a repo once and every member reads the same snapshot, with no per-seat re-indexing of the same codebase. The 25-repo limit is pooled across the whole team, not per seat.
- One org GitHub App install for all members. An admin installs the Repowise GitHub App once on the org; every member's private-repo access comes from that single install.
- Owner / admin / member roles
- Shared credit pool: $5/seat/mo, centrally billed. All seats' credits pool into one team balance the admin tops up. A 3-seat team starts with $15/mo of pooled AI credit.
- Team-wide PR bot across all repos
- Portfolio health dashboard. Aggregate health scores, hotspots, and trends across every team repo in one view.
- Cross-repo ownership and bus-factor rollup
- Shared cross-repo workspaces
- 6 concurrent index jobs · $100/day AI spend cap

### Enterprise

- Everything in Teams
- Customer-managed deployment: your cloud or on-prem
- Unlimited repos and configurable index concurrency
- Custom language and framework extensions
- Priority support: a named contact and a response-time SLA
- IP indemnification and patent grant

## How your code is handled

- Enterprise runs entirely inside your perimeter: Repowise never handles your code or data, so your own controls and certifications cover it.
- On Hosted, read-only GitHub App access with short-lived installation tokens. Stored integration credentials are encrypted at rest with application-level keys.
- On Hosted, indexing clones into an ephemeral container, and the working tree is wiped after every run.
- Your code is never used to train any model.
- A security audit trail records who viewed or exported data, including AI-agent reads over MCP.

## Deployment options

- **Customer-managed deployment** (Available, Enterprise agreement): Run Repowise in your own cloud or on-premise. We scope the setup with your team and support it after go-live.
- **Managed hosted service** (Available, Hosted): The same engine on Free, Pro, and Teams, with managed indexing, storage, billing, and GitHub integration.
- **Open-source self-hosting** (Available, Open source): The AGPL-3.0 core runs on infrastructure you control. The index and MCP server work without the hosted app.

## Security capabilities

- **Dependency and CVE scanning** (Available, Pro and above): Dependency inventory, OSV advisory matching, KEV and EPSS enrichment, and graph-aware usage triage are available on paid plans.
- **Function-level reachability** (Available, Pro and above): Affected-symbol evidence is crossed with imported names where ecosystem coverage supports it. Coverage is strongest for Go, partial for several ecosystems, and explicitly unknown elsewhere.
- **Full-history secret detection** (Available, Pro and above): Secrets are scanned across git history with redacted previews, live-at-HEAD state, and rotation guidance.
- **CycloneDX SBOM and VEX** (Available, Pro and above): Export the dependency inventory and evidence-backed triage state, including version-to-version diffs.
- **Audit, webhooks, and compliance coverage** (Available, Teams and above): Teams adds the security audit trail, signed outbound alerts, workspace rollups, and PCI-DSS / SOC 2 control-coverage reports. Reports are evidence maps, not audits or certifications.

## FAQ

### Is the Pro price changing?

Yes. Pro moves to $20/mo, or $16/mo billed yearly, in November. Subscribe before then and keep today's price ($15, or $12 yearly) for as long as you stay. Pro covers a lot more than it did at launch: private repos kept current on every push, your private code in Claude.ai and ChatGPT, a PR bot with AI review, and security scans of your whole git history with nightly vulnerability checks.

### How do credits work?

Credits are denominated in real USD and only consumed when a model writes explanations for you, or when you ask the codebase a question beyond the free monthly allowance. The documentation itself is built from the index, not written by a model, so reading it costs no credits on any plan, and neither do semantic search, the graph, hotspots or ownership analysis. Explanations on public repositories at or above 1,000 stars are written at our expense, not yours. Pro includes $5 of credits every month, on monthly and yearly billing alike. Top-up packs are $5 increments and never expire.

### What happens to my code?

We clone your repo onto an ephemeral indexing container, parse it into a graph, and store the derived artifacts (documentation pages, dependency graph, hotspots, decisions). The cloned working tree is wiped at the end of every run. We never use your code to train any model. See our /legal/privacy and /legal/security pages for details.

### Can I use my own AI provider key?

Not on hosted Repowise. Hosted plans run on Anthropic, OpenAI or Gemini models, and you pick the model each time you index, Claude Haiku by default. AI use is paid from credits. The open-source CLI and self-hosted deployments use your own provider key.

### What's the difference between Pro and Teams?

Pro is for one engineer: 5 repos, your own credits and GitHub App install. Teams is for a whole engineering org: repos are indexed once and shared with every member (25 pooled repos), private access comes from a single org GitHub App install, billing is per-seat (3-seat minimum) with a shared credit pool ($5/seat/mo), and there are owner/admin/member roles. Teams also unlocks portfolio intelligence a solo user never needs: a cross-repo health dashboard, a cross-repo ownership and bus-factor rollup, and team-owned cross-repo workspaces.

### How does Teams billing work?

Teams is billed per seat with a 3-seat minimum: $20/seat/month, or ~$16/seat/month billed yearly (about two months free). Every seat contributes $5/month of AI credit into one shared team pool the owner or an admin tops up centrally. You can add seats anytime from team settings; you can't have more active members than paid seats.

### What happens to repos and credits when I'm on a team?

Repos a team adds are indexed once and visible to every active member, with no per-seat re-indexing of the same codebase. The team's pooled repo limit is 25 across everyone (not per seat). AI usage on team repos draws from the shared team credit pool; anything you index personally still uses your personal balance.

### What's the difference between Free and Pro?

Free is built for open source. Any public repo gets a permanent public page, documentation built from the index, a README badge, semantic search, all the deterministic intelligence layers (graph, hotspots, dead code, ownership, decisions, symbol explorer), and 10 AI answers a month. Public repos at or above 1,000 stars also get their explanations written by a model at our expense. Adding a Repowise badge to your README earns weekly auto-refresh at no cost. Pro lifts the size cap to 5 GB, adds private repos, push-triggered auto-sync, written explanations on any repo you hold, AI answers paid from credits, full git history, and $5 of monthly AI credits.

### Are there usage limits?

On Free: 10 AI answers per month (shared between codebase chat and quick-ask), 1 concurrent index job, 10 new index calls per day, and a 7-day cooldown between manual refreshes of the same public repo. Semantic search and every deterministic layer are unmetered. Pro lifts the concurrent cap to 3, removes the answer limit, and adds a $20/day AI-spend ceiling. These limits exist to keep individual accounts from accidentally driving up costs, and most users never come close.

### Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancel during a free trial and you pay nothing. After that, cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep Pro until then. Charges are non-refundable except where required by law.

### Do you offer a free trial of Pro?

The Free tier is permanent, with no time limit. When a free Pro trial is on offer, the Pro button on this page says so and shows its length. A trial needs a card. Cancel before it ends and you pay nothing; otherwise it becomes a paid Pro plan and your card is charged the day it ends. One trial per person.

### How is repowise different from self-hosting?

The hosted product runs the same OSS engine on managed infrastructure: ephemeral indexers, push-triggered auto-sync from GitHub (Pro), team workspaces, and a chat experience with persistence. If you want to self-host, the AGPL-3.0 distribution on PyPI is feature-equivalent: `pip install repowise`.

### Do you support private repos?

Yes, on the Pro plan only. Install our GitHub App on the orgs and repos you want to index. It uses short-lived installation tokens, and stored integration credentials are encrypted at rest with application-level keys. Pro plans get push-triggered auto-sync with a 30-minute polling fallback. Free public repos refresh weekly once a Repowise badge is in the README, and anyone can trigger a manual refresh in between, once per repo per week.
